How can Thrive Market help with food allergies? Let me explain.

Many years ago, I was suffering from chronic joint pain. I had inflammation so bad that it was difficult to hold a pencil. It took me a while, but I finally brought the issue up with my doctor. She did some bloodwork and a week later informed me that she suspected that I had Rheumatoid Arthritis. This was an unacceptable diagnosis for me, but I went to see a specialist anyway. This Rheumatologist did more testing where he said that I tested negative, but all the symptoms were there. He prescribed a medication and said that he would monitor me.

I was in so much pain that I remember sitting in my chair crying.

To make a long story short, I had seen several different Rheumatologists over the course of three years, who had differing opinions about what was wrong with me. One said RA, another said, “I don’t know” and still, a third prescribed more medication. I knew in my heart that this couldn’t be right, so I began to research on my own; before Thrive Market ever existed.

How many of you know that doctors love it when we do our own research? HA! No, they don’t. I did it anyway and what I discovered shocked me. If you are suffering from inflammation and joint pain, I urge you to do your own research. I am not a doctor. I only know what worked for me, in my body, and my circumstance.

After some terrible reactions to three different medications, I determined that it was time to do a little body hacking. For 30 days I eliminated all things gluten from my diet. In 30 days I went from barely being able to walk up the steps to running 5 miles. The next 30 days I also eliminated all things dairy from my diet. I became symptom and drug-free.

Much to the doctor’s dismay, I healed myself with diet and exercise. I told him that I no longer needed medication and now I no longer see a Rheumatologist.

Instead, I traveled far and wide to find the food that would nourish my body. In walks Thrive Market.

I needed Kroger, Walmart, Meijer, and Aldi to fulfill my grocery list. Whole Foods is more than an hour away. Shopping was expensive and time-consuming to go to all these places. I was spending more money than I wanted to because, of course, I would find specific sales or see something that I just had to have.

That all changed when I found Thrive Market.

I buy many specialty items that line up with my Paleo diet. Dozens of gluten and dairy free products made from natural ingredients can be found at Thrive Market. The best thing about shopping here – I don’t have to leave the house. Don’t get me wrong, I still need milk, eggs, fruits, and veggies but I only go to Kroger for that. I save Walmart for things like dog food and fish food.

My special diet is easily satisfied by shopping at Thrive Market. This will remain true when I am traveling full-time in an RV. I will simply stay at one campground for a week or two, notify the camp staff that I will be expecting a delivery, and then have the order shipped directly to my campsite.
