Top 10 Gifts that Keep on Giving
If you are like me, then you have been planning for Christmas all year long, but somehow it has still snuck up on you when you weren’t expecting it. This might sound silly, but it really is true. Many moons ago I did my Christmas shopping all year long. Of course, that is when the kids were small and they wanted toys under the tree. Now they are not so small, and their toys are E-readers, laptops, and gaming consoles. I decided to help you all out by compiling my list of top 10 gifts that keep on giving.
Gone are the days when I could hit the clearance sales and find a dozen Barbies for 75% off. I can no longer hide a closet full of gifts that I found while browsing the shelves at Kohls. It takes work – work that I don’t have time for. If you are like me, then today is your lucky day! Check out my list of top 10 gifts that keep on giving and tell me what you think!
I have compiled a list of must-have gifts that keep on giving.
Gifts that no one will complain about. These are the toys that will get used, loved, and appreciated year-round. Those of you who are on a tight budget – like me – make your money count this year and look at my top 10 gifts that keep on giving.
In alphabetical order:
I have one in every bedroom, the living room, and the family room. They are amazing and work when we want a fresh smell in the house without all that poison being sprayed out of a can. I especially like peppermint oil diffused because it is a pest deterrent. Here is my review.
Who doesn’t want to snuggle into a cozy bed on a cold winter’s night? I’m not talking about cheap bedding, you know, the kind you get an all-in-one bag. I’m talking about goose down, Amish-made quilt, or that organic cotton that you refuse to buy for yourself.
Yes, the Amazon Echo is one of my favorite things in the house. I love to listen to music when I am cooking. I keep my Echo in the kitchen so that I can get my groove on while slaving over a hot stove, scrubbing floors, or washing dishes. Music soothes the savage beast, but the Echo does a whole lot more. This is truly a gift that keeps on giving.
This egg cooker is not just a great small appliance, it is a morning time saver. As a single mom, I am always crunched for time. This cooker will make six eggs, soft or hard in under 10 minutes. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, and small to store. I use mine for soft boiled eggs because they are my favorite. Make hard-boiled eggs and put them in the fridge for quick healthy snacks.
Aromatherapy is quickly catching on so don’t get left behind the curve. I could talk all day about essential oils. Use them in your diffuser, make lotions and lip balm, natural remedies, and the best darn house smells around. Essential oils can help you sleep, wake you up, and just make you feel good. I use essential oils in a homemade body scrub, medicinal salves, and all my bedroom diffusers use essential oil to create a calm atmosphere before bed.
My Amazon Fire stick is something I cannot live without. I watch all my Amazon Prime movies on it as well as Netflix, Hulu, and all the popular networks. While it is true that many apps need a subscription, others do not. Who needs cable when you have a Fire Stick? I plan to take this in my RV when I’m on my full-time RV adventure!
With the Kindle Fire tablet, you can purchase Kindle books for your loved ones on other occasions throughout the year. Give them the Fire Tablet for Christmas and the books for their birthday, anniversary, and Mother’s Day!
I admit that I have never given a magazine subscription before, but my mother got me Mother Earth Living one year and it was the best gift that year! Every month that I got one in the mail, I remembered my mom and how thoughtful the gift was. I love Mother Earth Living because it has amazing articles about natural living.
My Ninja blender gets so much use that I think I need to buy a new one. I really want the one with the food processor attachment. I make smoothies every day. The healthiest ones I make call for
- about ¼ C frozen pineapple
- a Cup or Two of leafy greens (Kale, Spinach, Collard)
- a Tbs of chia seeds, Tbs of Flax Meal
- a ½ tsp of Matcha
- coconut water to just below the fill line
Turn on until fully blended. The pineapple works to kill the grassy taste of the kale and makes it palatable. This is a must if you are like me and don’t like to eat your greens! Bonus: pineapple has natural digestive enzymes!
Okay, so maybe this isn’t for everyone, but I can’t tell you how many Bibles I have given as gifts. They were thoughtful gifts appreciated by all the recipients. If you know someone who needs, wants, or can’t afford one – this gift will keep on giving, for the rest of their life.
There you have it! My top 10 gifts that keep on giving! Happy shopping this holiday season!
